A historical walk that develops along a city path that covers the places, palaces, symbols, monuments and churches closely related to the figure of Dante Alighieri and the characters attributable to him. Families, women, friends, enemies, history and legends that still bring the fourteenth-century character to life in a contemporary context. It will be surprising to discover that a part of medieval Florence still lived by Dante still exists. Dante as a symbol of Italian culture and an active figure in the struggles between Guelphs and Ghibellines and, later, between Guelphs themselves. Dante as a citizen and uncomfortable opponent in internal struggles for power in the city.

VISIT DANTE'S BIRTHPLACE AND CHURCH

Discover “the city of the towers”, the Florence of a past world, a journey through time between the Middle Ages, the nineteenth-century city and the contemporary city. Significant historical information will be given along the itinerary to better understand the meaning of events that have marked the history of the city. Anecdotes will also be told about political figures, artists and simple citizens who will make the visit very smooth and fun.
