Guided walking tour of Florence

YOUR VERY FIRST TIME IN FLORENCE: NOT TO BE MISSED

Tour Smart. Make the most of your time to discover the history, culture and curiosities of the city rightly defined as the “cradle of the Renaissance”. Palaces of noble families, centuries-old churches, medieval alleys and squares that are real open-air museums; like the rest of the historical center. Don't just see beautiful stones but go further, straight to the soul of this fascinating city. A walk of only two hours in which you will have the opportunity to get to know the city better, which for centuries has been a cultural center for intellectuals, artists and travelers from all over the world! Discover Florence in the company of your authorized guide who lives and works in the most beautiful city in the world! The starting point is Piazza Santa Maria Novella, in the immediate vicinity of the railway station. The Basilica of SMN is a jewel of Gothic architecture with the only Renaissance marble facade, a masterpiece by Leon Battista Alberti, completed in the second half of the 15th century and a testimony to the greatness of the theories of Filippo Brunelleschi, architect and father of the Renaissance. A few minutes we see Palazzo Strozzi, a perfect example of Renaissance architecture and then, through the ancient Jewish quarter, we arrive in the religious center of the city where, majestic and perfect, we will be fascinated by the view of the Baptistery, the Cathedral, Giotto's Bell Tower and the recognizable Brunelleschi's Dome; five centuries of history and art in one square! From here, walking towards the Arno river, we cross Piazza della Repubblica and, after the Church of Orsanmichele, we arrive in Piazza della Signoria, a true city museum with Palazzo della Signoria (Palazzo Vecchio), the Statue of Neptune and a copy of Michelangelo's David. The path ends in the Uffizi courtyard.

If you have more time I advise you to cross the Ponte Vecchio and discover the Oltrarno district

Classic Tour. An ideal tour that covers the places, civil and religious buildings that testify the long and complicated history of Florence; a history of over 2,000 years: from the ancient Romans, through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, to the years of Florence Capital and the present day. Political and military events, families and struggles for power, art and greatness; this is Florence. Our walk ends on the oldest bridge in the city; the Ponte Vecchio, with its typical goldsmith shops.

COMPLETE THE KNOWLEDGE OF FLORENCE BY VISITING THE LEFT BANK OF THE RIVER AND ITS ARTISAN WORKSHOPS

XXL Tour. In addition to all this there is more: the Oltrarno! Defined by many guides as the “most beautiful neighborhood in the world”. The part of Florence that still tells of old craft shops, alleys and squares in which to get lost without ever ceasing to marvel at the beauty that surrounds us. Here we will arrive in Piazza di Santo Spirito to admire (if possible also from inside) the homonymous Basilica; undisputed jewel of the Renaissance architecture of Filippo Brunelleschi.
